This 4-Day Adventure Safari offers you the chance to see the world’s remaining mountain gorillas and have a rafting experience on the Nile water rapids as they still exist. This trip is for adventure-fit travelers looking for an adrenaline-trigging safari experience.

Itinerary

Day 1
Transfer to Jinja for white water rafting and return to Kampala

Early morning drive to Jinja for the Magnificent Uganda adventure experience. The journey will take you through Mabira forest the tropical rain forest in central Uganda, tea and sugarcane plantations plus several roadside markets arriving at Kalagala falls in time for your full or half-day white water rafting adventure on the Nile. After rafting we then return back to Kampala arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2
Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early morning after your breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your booked accommodation in Kampala/Entebbe and depart for Bwindi National Park at 7.00 am, driving southwards for at least 8 hours before arriving at your accommodation in Bwindi National Park. The scenic drive takes you through plantations, rolling hills, and country people conducting business with a stop at the equator for photography. Lunch is en-route in Mbarara town at Agip Motel. Upon arrival to the lodge, we spend the evening relaxing whilst enjoying the magnificent vistas of the beautiful landscape. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3
Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today’s schedule will take us through the impenetrable Jungle of Bwindi National Park, the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The park is divided into 4 gorilla tracking sectors including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors. Within the park, there are 21 groups of gorillas habituated for tourism. Five of these groups are found in the vicinity of Buhoma in northwest Bwindi; four at Ruhija in the east; and ten at the park’s southern trailheads at Rushaga and two are found at Nkuringo. We enjoy an early breakfast at lodge then pick our packed lunch, and drinking water and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing at 7.30 am. While here, we register and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the precautions and guidelines of the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be assigned a gorilla group, meet the ranger guide and start the trek into the forest. Once you have reached them, you are allowed to stay for one hour to observe these gentle giants, after which you return to meet the driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 4
Transfer/drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport or Kigali

After a beautiful night in the foothills of the gorilla land, you embark on the road drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport or Kigali for a departure flight. You will have lunch en route and can purchase any craft materials at several souvenir shops along the way to always remind you of your Bwindi gorilla trekking safari.
