From a lodging facility in Kampala, our Uganda safari guide will pick you up for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey to the southwestern part of Uganda starts with the first stop at the equator line about 84km from Kampala. Here you have photography time at the world’s center line and have a few experiments, thereafter we continue with the drive having lunch en route. After lunch, we drive towards south western Uganda arriving in Queen Elizabeth National Park at our booked accommodation the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive towards Kasenyi and visit the crater lakes, Edwards and George which have been popularly marked as the mating ground for several antelopes, particularly for the Uganda kob. You may be lucky to also sight more wildlife that may including lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other animals.
In the afternoon, we take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a water getaway that connects Lake Edward and George. This afternoon 3 -hour boat trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Following breakfast at your lodging facility you embark on the drive to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. The Kyambura Gorge is also known as the valley of apes situated in the far eastern corner of the park. Approximately 1km across at its broadest point and about 100 meters deep, this is one of the most scenic places a traveler can ever visit. During the trek, look out for the birds residing by the riverine swamps and forest such as herons, kingfishers, fish eagles, and much more.
After the trek, you’ll have lunch then after transfer on a road drive through the ishasha sector popular for tree climbing lions to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arriving in the evening after enjoying the backdrop of the kigezi highlands you reach in time for dinner at a booked lodging facility.
Today’s schedule will take us through the impenetrable Jungle of Bwindi National Park, the home of the endangered mountain gorillas. The park is divided into 4 gorilla tracking sectors including Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors. Within the park, there are 21 groups of gorillas habituated for tourism. Five of these groups are found in the vicinity of Buhoma in northwest Bwindi; four at Ruhija in the east; and ten at the park’s southern trailheads at Rushaga and two are found at Nkuringo. We enjoy an early breakfast at lodge then pick our packed lunch, and drinking water and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing at 7.30 am. While here, we register and join others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the precautions and guidelines of the gorilla trekking activity. You will then be assigned a gorilla group, meet the ranger guide and start the trek into the forest. Once you have reached them, you are allowed to stay for one hour to observe these gentle giants, after which you return to meet the driver guide and transfer back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
After a beautiful night in the foothills of the gorilla land, you embark on the road drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport or Kigali for a departure flight. You will have lunch en route and can purchase any craft materials at several souvenir shops along the way to always remind you of your Bwindi gorilla trekking safari.
